Guns’N’Roses, 08/07/2023, Circus Maximus.

A bloody great concert by Axl Rose and his buddies, 3 hours and 15 minutes non-stop of slightly more than 30 songs, including my all-time favorite Bond song, “Live & Let Die”!  And they also concluded with my favorite Guns song, “Paradise City”.

Cool also that old Chrissie Hynde and her Pretenders opened up for Guns.  Saw her and her band in May, 2003 in Rome when they had opened for Deep Purple.

All pics taken with a Lumix-Leica digital camera using a 1,950 mm zoom and from a distance of about 500 yards.

A nice touch by Axl as he had played with AC/DC when Brian Johnson lost his hearing as they played Bon’s “Walk All Over You” with Axl adding before the song that “Angus is happy that we’re playing here”!  Funny too as Axl mentioned Silvio Berlusconi twice by dedicating two songs to him and along the way also shouting to the crowd, “Bunga Bunga”!

Good for Axl, Slash, Duff and the rest of that great band (they gave 1,000% for their Rome show, at least the way I look at it).  In the long run we managed to save about 180 euros worth of tickets by sitting outside the famous stadium and in front of the FAO hqs.

The Musical Box enchants Rome, February 28th, 2023

Canada’s The Musical Box enchanted fans at Rome’s Parco della Musica (Auditorium) with their homage to one of the world’s greatest prog-rock bands, Genesis.

The band, which was formed in 1993 in Montréal, was in the Eternal City to present their own version of one of Genesis’s most famous albums (and the last one with lead singer Peter Gabriel), “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway”.

The Canadian band has performed in front of millions of fans and has also played at the prestigious London Royal Albert Hall.
